Ontario Cancer Fact: The International Agency for Research on Cancer’s carcinogen classifications support cancer prevention

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) classifies potential carcinogens based on the likelihood that they can cause cancer. These classifications can lead to changes in polices and practices to prevent exposure to carcinogens at work and in the environment. In 2019, IARC updated its classification process.
