Cancer is now the most common cause of death. However, many cancer cases can be prevented, and better diagnosis and treatment could improve outcomes. On February 4, 2020, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) released the World Cancer Report, which presents the most up-to-date science on cancer prevention. The goal of the report is to help reduce the burden of cancer worldwide. The causes of occupational cancer are reviewed in Chapter 2.10. The report is available for download from the IARC website.
This report was released on World Cancer Day 2020. World Cancer Day is a global initiative of the Union for International Cancer Control, aimed at increasing awareness, education, and action around cancer prevention in order to reduce the number of cancer deaths worldwide.
