April 28th is the National Day of Mourning. It is held each year in Canada to remember and honour those who have been killed or suffered an injury or illness due to work.
Cancers caused by exposure to hazards in the workplace are preventable. Based on findings from the Burden of Occupational Cancer Study, exposure to cancer-causing agents in the workplace results in approximately 10,000 new cancers in Canada each year.
