Cancer causing chemicals prompt province-wide testing of nail salons

CBC News reports that Manitoba will begin testing nail salons for formaldehyde, toluene, acetone, and methyl methacrylate. This was prompted by complaints of strong chemical smells in a nail salon, where testing has confirmed the presence of formaldehyde in the air. It is still unknown whether the level of formaldehyde exceeded the allowable limit.
