GE retirees, wives and children continue fight with WSIB despite hardships

The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) is currently undertaking a review of previously-denied compensation claims from former GE Peterborough employees. Former workers and their families report that they have struggled to get the WSIB to take into account the potential impact of exposure to the multiple chemicals used at the plant.

The Ministry of Labour appointed OCRC’s Dr. Paul Demers to conduct a review on how cancer-related claims are evaluated by the WSIB. That includes how to evaluate claims for cancers caused by exposure to multiple chemicals.
