GE retirees, wives and children continue fight with WSIB despite hardships

On Wednesday (April 18), a meeting was held for the group of retirees from Peterborough General Electric, their wives, widows, son and daughters to discuss the updates and hear how people’s claims are being processed. The main problem was the struggle to get the WSIB to connect exposure to multiple chemicals to numerous cancers and other sicknesses while the group vowed to continue their fight for compensation despite numerous roadblocks and delays.

Meanwhile, on April 13 the Ministry of Labour appointed Dr. Paul Demers and Cancer Care Ontario to conduct a review on how cancer-related claims are evaluated. That includes how cancers caused by exposure to multiple chemicals are processed.
