Vern Ramsey_Photo courtesy of Canadian Cancer SocietyThe Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) recently profiled an OCRC project on exposure to carcinogens in the mining industry. The project is led by Dr. Victoria Arrandale, who is funded by a CCS Career Development Award in Prevention. Dr. Arrandale is developing a new mining exposure database using historical data from Ontario mines, in order to better understand miners’ exposures, and help target new prevention strategies. This project is funded through the Ministry of Labour Research Opportunities Program.
