Video: Dr. Robert Whiting, Dr. Karen Albertsen and Dr. Diane Boivin discuss interventions to mitigate the health effects of shiftwork

The OCRC and the Institute for Work & Health co-hosted a symposium on interventions to mitigate the health effects of shiftwork in the fall of 2012. At the symposium, Dr. Robert Whiting (Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, Hamilton) shared theory and examples of optimal shift scheduling, Dr. Karen Albertsen (Team Working Life, Denmark) presented on self-rostering, and Dr. Diane Boivin (Centre for Study and Treatment of Circadian Rhythms, McGill University) presented on the effect of controlling exposure to light and darkness. Summaries of their presentations are below. Visit our shiftwork interventions symposium page and our shiftwork project page for more information.
