The World Health Organization (WHO) hosted the “International Conference on Environmental and Occupational Determinants of Cancer: Interventions for Primary Prevention”, held in March 2011 in Asturias, Spain. Scientists at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) worked closely together with colleagues at WHO to develop the scientific programme for this conference and draft the Asturias declaration, a call for action on environmental and occupational cancer prevention.
