Rowena Pinto is the Vice President, Public Affairs & Strategic Initiatives for the Canadian Cancer Society, Ontario Division and is part of the Society’s senior leadership team. Her portfolio encompasses advocacy, prevention and health promotion, communications and media, community outreach in Toronto, and research. She is passionate in her fight against cancer and brings a lot of experience in social and health issues to her position at the Society. Rowena began her career in Ottawa working for the Correctional Service of Canada and then Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, where she held a number of positions in strategic planning, policy development, communications and community engagement. Rowena moved to Toronto in 2003 and began working for the Canadian Cancer Society in the role of Senior Manager, Public Issues. Rowena holds a Master’s degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Concordia University.
