Emily Gross

Research Associate

Emily completed a BHSc in Health Promotion (Western University, 2013) and a MPH in Health Promotion (University of Toronto, 2015). Having always been interested in chronic disease, Emily completed a practicum at the OCRC in 2014 where she got to look at chronic disease from a new angle: occupational cancer. This research is rewarding because it combines personal experience with professional interests. Having been exposed to sun and shiftwork, she is interested in the dynamic relationship between employment and health. Currently, she is contributing to the qualitative analysis for three projects. Awareness to Behaviour asks how awareness of occupational exposures leads to change at the community and workplace level to protect workers. Sun Safety at Work Canada is a project designed to develop a Canada-wide workplace-based sun safety program for outdoor workers. Completing the Picture is exploring the feasibility of the systematic collection of workplace hazard exposure information from workers at Ontario health centres.
