CBC News recently reported that production has halted at both of Canada’s two remaining asbestos mines. The future of the mines is currently unknown.
The Parliamentary Precinct in Ottawa is currently being renovated, which includes asbestos removal from some of the buildings. Concerns are being raised about how waste asbestos products are dealt with and disposed of.
